Employees
regularly contribute to this "in bank" fund during the
year by participating in dress down days, employee luncheons, car
washes, cookouts and other fun events. The proceeds of this account
are paid out to two beneficiary organizations (chosen annually by
employees) at our employee recognition banquet held yearly in early
spring at which time we also recognize employee volunteerism (Volunteers
of the Year) and service to the Bank. Past recipients include: the
Love and Charity Mission, Racine Emergency Shelter Taskforce (REST),
Homeward Bound, SafeHaven, Racine Literacy Council, Health Care
Network, Catherine Marion Housing, St. Vincent DePaul Meal Program,
Countryside Humane Society, Hospice Alliance, Big Brothers/Big Sisters,
Racine Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse, and Kids of Lincoln
Elementary School. Bank of Elmwood and its employees are excited
to be involved in such worthwhile projects.
In 1996, Bank
of Elmwood celebrated 35 years of service to the Racine Community.
The observance was culminated by a "bank-quet" that gave
away $1,000 to each of 35 local agencies. Bank of Elmwood was proud
to celebrate their milestone with this type of giving.
